Getting to the Course

Self Drive

There is no public vehicular transport, and from the Linkwater junction allow approximately two hours driving time. There is no fuel supply after the Challenge Service Station at Linkwater.

Even in the best conditions the drive is tricky due to many corners, but at present is still being repaired following the damaging floods of 2021 and restrictions are likely to apply until late 2023 while restoration work continues. See updates from Marlborough Roads for current status.

Look at spending some time with local accommodation providers.

We welcome self contained campers and have accessible toilets at the clubhouse, but no shower facilities.

Boat

The Nopera Club has a mooring and dinghy available to visitors with their own boat. Water taxis operate from Te Mahia, The Portage Hotel or Havelock. Large groups are welcome and we provide transport from local jetties for a small fee to cover our volunteer members costs.

If you still want to have your own transport at your destination but want to avoid missing the scenery because you are concentrating on the drive, book a trip with Johnsons Barge Service from Havelock.

Plane

Pelorus Air operate charter flights to the runway adjacent to the golf course. Private pilots can also land there for a small fee.
