Some background info

What can you expect?

Nopera Golf Club is affiliated with New Zealand Golf in the Tasman District, but is the only course in the Marlborough Sounds. There are very few quality golf courses as remote as Nopera, but access is only an issue if you’re looking for an excuse to avoid great golf, amazing scenery, good seasonal fishing, wonderful local accommodation and the relaxed local lifestyle.

Other Activites

In addition, we have a fantastic lawn Croquet facility they may wish to try. Full equipment hire is available for both sports. Got a family member who doesn’t play but likes a walk? There are some fine walks close to the course. Through our partners there are also activities like walks, fishing, kayaking, mountain biking, sight seeing and plenty more available. For those staying at local resorts there are kayaks, mountain bikes, paddle boards and dinghies available for use. There is an excellent sailing experience available as well. Check the offerings of Sounds By Sail.

Competitions

Our club plays competitions on Saturday and Wednesday, and it’s ferocious battles for the block of Whittakers chocolate the triumphant winner receives.

Dress Code

... Actually we don’t have a dress code. Our entire workforce is volunteers, not prone to displays of high fashion either when working or playing at Nopera. If you want to play in shorts tee shirt and jandals, we will even provide the sunscreen. In summer it is wise to stay hydrated and the water supply in and around our clubhouse is filtered and safe to drink. You are more than welcome to break your round up with a picnic on the deck. Beware, the creek gully has a voracious appetite for golf balls.
